2000 reasons to join Club Cash

IT seems appropriate, ahead of our final two home games of the season, to boast the fact that we have had TWO separate £1,000 winners on our weekly Club Cash lottery in the past few weeks.

Our lucky £1,000 winners were in the money on week 4 and again on week 10.

We can’t say much about their identities unless we have their permission to do so publicly and we haven’t had that, but the fact remains that membership of Club Cash, for as little as £1 a week, can pay very good dividends while providing the club with an income stream that has never been as vital as it is in these extremely difficult times for everyone.

We are at home this Sunday, August 14, to London Skolars at the Vestacare Stadium (3pm kick off) and also on Sunday, September 4, when Hunslet come to town.

After that we’ve no income at all through the turnstiles, unless we make the play-offs, until next February or March — that’s the best part of six months, half a year, when income from the lottery is our only source of regular income. In other words, we will be relying heavily on it in the weeks and months ahead.

Most of our lottery members pay £1 a week, but you can, of course, pay more for more numbers and a better chance of winning guaranteed weekly prizes of £1,000, £100, £50 x 2, £25 x 2 and ten consolation prizes each week, each of £10.

But that’s not all. Running on a different system and thus not guaranteed, is a weekly jackpot prize of £500 which, if not won, rolls over to the following week up to a maximum of £10,000.

To join is simple. Ring our Club Cash lottery administrator John McAndrew on 07980129541 or email him on mcandrewj@aol.com OR ring the club on 07904 898177 or email to enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk

If you ring and it’s voicemail leave your number and someone will get back to you.

You can choose from one of several methods of payment — direct debit, bank transfer or even by cash on the doorstep if you prefer to pay one of our agents/collectors when they call on a regular basis.

To repeat, it’s only £1 a week for a guaranteed weekly prize pool of £1,350 as well as the £500-a-week rollover jackpot. That’s got to be well worth a gamble for anyone, while for Roughyeds supporters there is the added benefit of knowing that you are helping the club to advance and make forward strides.

On a similar theme, and this one aimed specifically at club supporters, we have the ORSA Squad Strengthener, which is advertised on the back of our current Club Cash lottery results sheets.

Set up by the late Nigel Marland, this scheme has been a great support for the club for a number of years.

It aims to support the club by providing funds which are ring-fenced and used exclusively, as the name of the scheme suggests, for strengthening the squad with recruitment, be it on signings, dual-registration players or loan men.

You can support with a one-off donation or by a regular standing order.

Anyone joining is entered into an annual draw for a club prize.

The scheme is administered by the club’s Club Cash lottery manager John McAndrew, a close friend of Nigel before he died, and John’s wife Lynda, who also helps the club as a home game-day volunteer in the hospitality suite.

If Squad Strengthener is for you please contact John on the telephone number given above.
