Shez answers Vikings mental health appeal

BRENDAN Sheridan, coaching assistant to Stu Littler, has answered a Widnes Vikings appeal for help in their initiative to spotlight suicide and other mental health issues during their televised match against Halifax on Monday evening.

The Vikings will display 120 rugby league shirts at the DCBL Stadium, marking the number of people around the world who will take their own lives during the course of the game — one every 42 seconds.

Clubs or individuals are being urged by Vikings to donate or to loan a rugby shirt for Monday night’s initiative and Shez, a mental health volunteer worker with associations across the North-West, looked up memorabilia and promptly sent off a Dewsbury Celtic training top which he used when he was head coach there.
