GEORGE Hirst and James Thornton are included in Stuart Littler’s 23-man squad for Sunday’s Law Cup clash against Rochdale Hornets at the Vestacare Stadium (3pm).
The two missed out last week through minor injuries but are now back in contention to play in the 70th edition of the Law Cup.
All four of our signings from Rochdale Hornets are included in the squad making for a tasty affair as Zac Baker, Gregg McNally, Lewis Sheridan and Joe Taira look to get one over their old club.
The main focus for Stu last week against Widnes was giving his players minutes, but now the focus has shifted to who is standing out in training and games, he says.
Said Stu:
“Places in the squad now have to be earned. What we see on the playing and training field is what determines who gets the minutes and how many minutes they get.
“I’m looking forward to it, it’s the 70th instalment of the Law Cup. For something that’s run for that long, it’s got a lot of heritage and prestige attached to it.
“It’s my first one as a coach and it’s one we intend to put our best foot forward and we want to show what we are about in the game.”
Emmerson Whittel and Callum Cameron are still serving their suspensions while Tommy Brierley is recovering from the injury he incurred last year.
Squad in full: Ah Van, Baker, Bardsley, Blagbrough, Ferry, Hamilton, Hartley, Hirst, Keppel, McNally, Meadows, Morgan, Nelmes, Newton, Paga, Ridyard, Sheridan, Slater, Taira, Thornton, Wellington, Wilkinson, Yarrow.
