Carr in 22-man squad

CONNOR Carr goes straight into Stuart Littler’s 22-man squad to face Wigan Warriors Academy this Sunday at Ince Rose Bridge, 1pm kick off.

The 19-year-old centre was announced as a Roughyed yesterday and is in contention to play his first game of 2023.

Lewis Sheridan is out of the squad after dislocating his knee and snapping his patella tendon in the Law Cup victory over Rochdale.

There is no Joe Taira after he left the club by mutual consent which makes for a 22 man squad that will face the young Warriors on Sunday.

Emmerson Whittel and Callum Cameron are still banned and will not feature. Our two friendlies have counted towards the bans, but this fixture will not, meaning Emmerson will miss the Doncaster and Skolars games while Cameron has to sit out six games before he can return to action.

The squad that will face Roughyeds will be a mixture of Reserves and Academy players.

Admission is free for the tie with donations to the club welcome. This is the last opportunity for fans to see the club before our season kicks off on February 26 in the Challenge Cup against Doncaster.

Squad in full: Ah Van, Baker, Bardsley, Blagbrough, Carr, Ferry, Hamilton, Hartley, Hirst, Keppel, McNally, Meadows, Morgan, Nelmes, Newton, Paga, Ridyard, Slater, Thornton, Wellington, Wilkinson, Yarrow.
