OLDHAM RLFC are pleased to confirm the signing of Connor Carr on a season long loan from Huddersfield Giants.

Stuart Littler has bolstered his ranks with the addition of centre Connor, who started out his rugby career at Underbank.

He signed for us mid-way through last year and during his first loan spell scored five tries in 12 appearances.

The 19-year-old has chosen to return to the club to develop his rugby and his addition strengthens an already healthy-looking squad.

Our head coach believes returning to the club is the perfect opportunity for Connor who will be able to learn off and benefit from experienced heads such as Patrick Ah Van.

“He’s a player who’s only going to get better as he develops; working alongside somebody like Patrick Ah Van can only help him and help nurture him into the player that we see him developing into,” said Stuart Littler.

“He performed well for us last year and he’s got a lot of attributes that we like and he’s sharp

“He’s a good defender and makes good defensive choices on the edge as well as being a real handful with the ball.

“We’re in a good place currently and he’ll add to that depth there. “

Said club chairman Chris Hamilton:

“Huddersfield Giants extended his contract at the end of last season, but we’ve been speaking with them about Connor coming back to us and they were happy for that.

“He had other clubs wanting him, but he has chosen us and obviously we are delighted with that. He’s got lots of ability and his experiences with us last year will make him better this year.”
