ROUGHYEDS have added in youngster Harvey Wilson on a month long dual-registration from Wigan Warriors.
The prop comes into the squad at a pivotal time for the club after impressing in his three appearances for Oldham this year while on dual-registration.
The 19-year-old scored a try in the 36-16 victory over Cornwall at the Vestacare Stadium, last month, and also featured in the 26-26 draw with Dewsbury Rams.
His first game in Oldham colours came in the Good Friday derby where he was the Champagne Moment winner after giving Rochdale Hornets a torrid time in the 56-16 win.
An Oldham lad, he signed for Wigan having played for Saddleworth and Waterhead growing up, and has impressed in the Warriors Reserves side.
Harvey is the grandson of the late Ken ‘Tug’ Wilson who made over 300 appearances for the club from 63’ to 73’.
“I think Harvey has been great when he’s played for us this year — he’s an exciting player and an Oldham boy,”
said head coach Stuart Littler.
“He really buys into what we’re about as a club with his attitude and desire to work hard.
“We want quality players and he’s one of them. He gives his all for us every time he puts the Oldham jersey on, and big thanks to Wigan for getting it done.”
Wilson’s signing comes after the club announced the capture of Nick Rawsthorne from Halifax on a deal until the end of the season.
Both go into contention for Sunday’s huge clash against Doncaster for which admission prices have been slashed to just £10 for both veterans and fathers to celebrate Fathers Day and Armed Forces Week.
