OLDHAM could go second in League One this weekend should they beat a resurgent Hunslet.
The Parksiders, who currently occupy that second spot, will have a point to prove at the South Leeds Stadium after losing 40-20 against Oldham at the start of last month.
Since that result, though, they have won every game including a comfortable 28-8 victory over Doncaster.
Hunslet, like Oldham, are a side that like to throw the ball about so it is set to be an entertaining encounter.
The last five meetings have been high-scoring games, with an average of 54 points being scored between the two sides across the 80 minutes.
Roughyeds boss Stuart Littler will be looking for an improved performance than the one shown last weekend if they are to come away with the two points, though.
“We have a massive game this weekend and we have to be better than we were against North Wales,” he said.
“We speak every week about invitations, and barge overs on our goal-line, we have to be smarter than that and thats what we’re working on going into the game.
“I want to see us be more ruthless when we are in front and be smarter with our game management so that we’re turning the ball over where we want to so the opposition has to work for everything they get.
“We know what are our objectives are within these games ahead of the play-offs and we will be striving to achieve them.”
Hunslet have not beaten Oldham at home since 2018 and Roughyeds will be hoping that will continue at the South Leeds Stadium on Sunday.
