PATRICK AH VAN in the backs and Zac Baker in the forwards, neither of whom played at Rochdale on Sunday, are back in the running for Oldham selection in tomorrow night’s (Wed) big game against Workington Town at Boundary Park (7.30pm).
Ah Van, the big Samoan international and the Roughyeds’ top try scorer with 13 Betfred League One tries this season, has recovered from illness that kept him out of the derby clash at the Crown Oil Arena.
Baker, the ex-Rochdale forward, didn’t play because he was recovering from a knock,
Also back in the provisional squad is the mercurial Jordan Paga, the Yorkshire lad of Polish descent, who is a firm crowd favourite and who will be itching to play after completing a four-match ban.
Paga can play in several positions, but he has made a name for himself as Martyn Ridyard’s half-back partner following the serious pre-season injury to Lewis Sheridan.
Out of the squad is full-back Gregg McNally, who tweaked a hamstring at Rochdale, but young George Hirst (head cut) has been cleared to play and is included in the 21.
Squad: Ah Van, Baker, Blagbrough, Cameron, Carr, Hartley, Hirst, Johnson, Meadows, Moran, Morgan, Nelmes, Newton, Paga, Rawsthorne, Ridyard, Slater, Tyrer, Whittel, Wilkinson, Wilson
