AFTER over three months off, Roughyeds are back in action next week when they take on Keighley Cougars on Boxing Day, kick off 1pm.
Plenty of change has happened since Oldham fell agonisingly short against underdogs North Wales Crusaders back in September.
Now coached by rugby league legend Sean Long, 18 fresh faces have been brought in since the play-off defeat.
The squad, featuring Super League, international and NRL experience in abundance, represents a level of quality that Oldham fans have seldom witnessed in the past 25-plus years.
Despite this, Mo Agoro – who signed from Keighley for a second stint with Oldham – believes it will be as tough as ever.
“I think everybody is capable of beating everybody – it’s a very competitive league this year,” he said.
“Keighley are a great side and have strengthened really well, like us.
“We will be keeping a look out for all the teams this year and we won’t be underestimating anybody.”
An experienced operator at this level, having scored 28 tries in 2022 for Keighley, Mo Agoro feels he can still get better.
“Sean Long is an amazing coach who has been at the very top of the game and he’s very detailed and knowledgeable,” Mo added.
“I’m learning a lot and developing my game even further under him as well as the rest of the performance staff.
“Training has been pretty tough and intense, but enjoyable at the same time – it’s really good to be back.”
Admission prices for the game at Cougar Park are £18 for adults and £15 for concessions and tickets can be bought at the Cougars’ ticket page.
