Managing director Mike Ford has issued a New Year’s message to all Roughyeds fans ahead of the upcoming season – which gets underway at home to Halifax Panthers on January 28.
First of all, I would like to mention the Keighley game – it was a good solid start from Sean, his staff and the team.
I hope the fans who were with us for our first game on Boxing Day in nearly thirty years enjoyed the match.
It’s always difficult, when you have got 20 new players, to gel as quickly as possible – but the signs were good.
The scoreline reflected the game against, potentially, our nearest rivals next year and one of the teams that should be fighting for promotion.
We’ve got the Law Cup game coming up on January 21 to have another hit out before the season starts proper against Halifax, and we hope to see many more of you there.
The players are currently on a break until January 4 when they will come back in for the next block, which is all designed for us to up our intensity levels.
Sean will be looking to get better every day and every training session, and he will be keeping the squad’s feet on the ground, in the weeks leading up to the start of the season.
I’m pleased to report season ticket sales have gone well and fans have up until the first game to secure their place at Boundary Park for the 2024 season
We urge everybody who hasn’t yet joined us to come with us on this unique and exciting journey.
As I’ve mentioned many times before, this is not our club, it’s your club.
For us to be successful in all aspects, we need to do it together and we all need to pitch in.
