ROUGHYEDS will host Super League opposition at Boundary Park when they face London Broncos on Sunday, February 4 (3pm kick off).
The visit of the newly-promoted Super League side will be the ideal opportunity for the Roughyeds boss, Sean Long, to assess where the club is at, heading into the upcoming 2024 League One season.
After defeating the likes of Featherstone and Toulouse on their way to the top-flight, the Broncos game will be a tough encounter.
Admission prices for the game are as follows: £16 for adults, £12 for concessions (over 65s and students) and FREE for under-16s.
Pie and peas hospitality will also be available at £28 for adults, £24 for concessions and £12 for under-16s.
With Oldham already facing two warm-up matches against sides in the same league, Long felt it appropriate for his men to test themselves further.
“I just felt we needed to play a game against a Super League side to see where we are at as a side,” he explained.
“From my time coaching at Featherstone I know that London are a very good side – so it’s a perfect game for us.
“They’re a well-balanced side that is fit and fast with good outside backs and big forwards.”
London, coached by Mike Eccles, have re-signed several of their promotion-winning squad such as Dean Parata, Alex Walker, Oli Leyland and Jarred Bassett.
They have also strengthened having brought in Sadiq Adebiyi – who spent time on loan at Oldham in 2017 – as well as Gideon Boafo, James Meadows and Josh Rourke.
With the Broncos’ Super League season starting against Catalans Dragons just a few weeks later, they will be looking to hit the peak of their fitness in the Boundary Park clash.
