Proposed Law Cup fixture cancelled

OLDHAM RLFC can confirm this year’s Law Cup will now not take place.

The game, which was originally scheduled for January 21, was postponed due to a frozen pitch with a re-arranged date pencilled in for March 10.

The decision to cancel the fixture was not made lightly, but was necessary in order for the club to best prepare for the forthcoming League One season.

Having sustained a number of injuries to the squad in recent weeks, and not wanting to add to the list, the club felt it best to leave a weekend free, before the away tie at Workington on March 17.

There is little leeway in the 2024 League One calendar, meaning another re-arrangement was not possible.

All fans who purchased tickets for the game at the Crown Oil Arena will be issued a refund.

The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused in the cancellation of the fixture.
