Swinton game to be broadcast on The Sportsman

WE can confirm our Challenge Cup fourth round tie against Swinton Lions – to be played on Sunday February 25, 6pm kick off – will be broadcast live on The Sportsman.

Roughyeds booked their place in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup for the first time since 2021 with a 22-10 victory over Barrow Raiders.

Swinton have notched up three wins so far this year, notably dispatching of Widnes Vikings 18-6.

They booked their place in the fourth round thanks to a comfortable 50-6 win against NCL side West Hull.

The game on February 25 will be the first time the two sides have met in nearly two years when Lions won 35-6 in 2022.

Sean Long’s men will be looking to continue their early good form after impressive wins over Halifax Panthers, Barrow Raiders and London Broncos.

The RFL have confirmed viewing figures have been strong for the early rounds of the Challenge Cup so far, with the average BBC audience up 81 percent on 2023 and The Sportsman showing an increase of 22 percent on its 2023 average.
