Another Decent Following Expected at York

Despite last Sunday evening’s defeat at Swinton in the Betfred Challenge Cup, Oldham are expected to have another good following at York’s LNER Community Stadium later today (Sunday) when they play York in the quarter-final of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup, kick-off 3pm.

The winners know already that they play Sheffield Eagles or Batley Bulldogs at home in the semi-final on Sunday, May 12 at home in what would be a massive Boundary Park occasion with Wembley only 80 minutes away.

So whatever happens at York. Oldham have a day off next Sunday, March 10, before they go to Workington in their opening Betfred League One clash on the following Sunday, March 17. Roughyeds have already tod Rochdale that they will not be playing the outstanding Law Cup fixture on March 10 because of the current number of their injuries and the fact that Workington at Derwent Park only a week later will be a tough ask.

Away Travel

The YEDS Supporters’ Group are expected to take a lot of fans to York, given that they have subsidised the trip as a thank-you to club chairman Bill Quinn, who has already helped out financially with other trips.

“Bill wants as many fans as possible to go to York, but we didn’t think it was right to expect him to help out again, so we have subsidised the trip ourselves,”

said YEDS official Jamie Hollingworth.

YEDS have pegged travel at only £12 for adults and £3 for children, while admission to this 1895 Cup quarter-final is only £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and free for under-16s.
