ORSA – the Oldham, Roughyeds Supporters Association
As we all know, the 2017 season didn’t go to plan, despite all the efforts of everyone involved with the club. However, that’s behind us now and the good news is, that we are starting the 2018 season back in Oldham at the newly refurbished Vestacare Stadium.
The 2018 season in Championship 1 will bring its own challenges, with expectations high for a return to the Championship as soon as possible, so we must all pull together once again, in pursuit of that aim. For their part, ORSA, the official but independently run supporters club of Oldham RLFC will continue to work in support of the continuing development of the club by backing the playing and coaching staff.
Ahead of the 2018 season, ORSA has sponsored Liam Bent and has contributed to the cost of the pre-season training, team challenge which the squad has attended at Challenge4Change, an indoor training centre in Manchester. In addition, ORSA will continue to fund some of the nutritional requirements of the playing staff and within their resources, help in any other ways possible.
During the 2017 season, ORSA funded a ‘team bonding’ meal out for the lads when morale was at a low.
Scott Naylor and the rest of the coaching/backroom staff all endorse and appreciate this sort of backing. However, it does come at some cost and does severely test our limited resources, so the more support ORSA receives from fans, the more ORSA are able to assist Scott and his ‘team’ with their aims.
ORSA’S FUNDS – Are achieved by annual memberships; donations; match day fund raising; various events. Every penny is used to benefit the Roughyeds squad.
