ORLFC Foundation have partnered with Oldham College to run a new rugby league Educational Academy, with those interested invited to an open day on February 10.
The Academy, starting in September, is a unique programme allowing those enrolled to train and play rugby league at an elite level while studying any subject available at Oldham College.
Academic timetables will be structured to allow students to attend all rugby league sessions without missing a class.
All students will earn a recognised academic qualification, providing the flexibility to pursue chosen career pathways while continuing to chase their rugby league dreams.
Those in the academy will train and compete as part of the official Oldham Rugby League set-up and play in the competitive college league structure as well as receiving high quality coaching.
The programme aims to teach the ‘Oldham Way’ through on-field training sessions, video analysis, strength and conditioning and skills development across a schedule throughout the week, designed for player development.
In the past 18 months, ORLFC has seen exponential growth both on and off the field which culminated in a bid for inclusion in an expanded Super League at the end of 2025.
The club’s growth continues with increased playing and performance routes into the first team with ORLFC now operating eight junior sides.
The open day is being held at Oldham College at 6pm on February 10 and those interested are asked to fill out the below form.
