Chairman Bill Quinn has paid tribute to the Roughyeds hierarchy after the club was confirmed to be one of nine to submit a formal application for inclusion into a 14-team Super League in 2026.
In an update to supporters, Quinn reiterated Oldham’s ambitions and invited fans to join him in the Broadway Suite ahead of Friday’s elimination playoff against Halifax (8pm KO) to learn more about the club’s application and prospects.
“I would like to thank Mike Ford, Liam Norbury, and Jim Minton for their outstanding efforts over the past month in preparing a strong application for Super League.
From the moment we were made aware of the submission deadline, everyone at the club has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to produce what we believe is a compelling case for inclusion as one of the 14 clubs in an expanded Super League in 2026.
We believe we are more than ready to be included in the top flight. What we have done in such a short space of time is nothing short of remarkable.
Since taking over the club in 2023, we have progressed Oldham to the cusp of the Super League – something we could scarcely have believed possible in the past 20+ years.
I’d like to invite everyone to join us in the Broadway Suite ahead of our big knockout match against Halifax, where I’ll be sharing more about our bid and discussing our chances of success.”
Supporters can cheer on Oldham this Friday for just £16, and under-16s for £3, with no extra charges for on the day purchases.
