The exclusive 1876 Club (a reference to the year our club was formed) is up and running and already has its first members, said club commercial manager Kieran O’Reilly in the Broadway Suite at the Hunslet game.

“We are rebuilding our club bit by bit,” said Kieran, “and membership of our 1876 Club is one way to go. Membership isn’t cheap but commercial and other benefits are numerous.”

The first four members (pictured below) are Ian Atherton of Data Stream Communications, Neil Aylett of Quality Assured Fleet Services, Scott Armstrong of GNU construction and Liam Norbury of Connolly Ltd.

The cost of membership is £3,000 a year and anyone interested is asked to email kieran.oreilly@roughyeds.co.uk

Kieran got our latest local signing, Nathan Roebuck, to introduce various club sponsors and commercial partners and Nathan is pictured with Shane Limer of Limer Driving Academy which has forged links with the Oldham RLFC Foundation.

Shane outlined the scheme and promoted it, while Nathan said that as an Oldhamer born and bred he was proud to sign for his home-town club.

Finally, head coach Sean Long (also pictured by Dave Murgatroyd) addressed the Broadway Suite faithful and said he was proud of the way his side had retained it’s composure when Hunslet made it 10-6 and Roughyeds lost Danny Craven to the sin bin.

“From that position, we did very well to win comfortably,”

said Sean.
