Connolly Ltd of Wigan, one of the biggest construction and community-conscious companies of its kind in the North-West, hopes to become heavily involved at Oldham RLFC.
News of Connolly’s potential involvement with the development of Melrose, and potentially other OLDHAM RLFC initiatives, emerged at this week’s monthly breakfast Networking Group when club sponsors, potential sponsors and other interested companies were there to pool ideas, share details of each other’s business, listen to what the club is up to in this regard and, in this case, to listen to George Riley, of the club’s media team, interviewing one of the RFL’s top officials, local man Robert Hicks.
Liam Norbury, a Connolly director and a member of the company’s leadership team, was present at the Networking Group, revealing afterwards that he was an Oldham man with a local rugby league background; that he lived in Waterhead; and that he had supported the Roughyeds in Watersheddings days.
Said Liam:
“We do a lot of work in schools and currently we are working locally with First-Choice Homes. We are hoping to be involved with work at Melrose and we are hoping this will be the start of a long-term partnership with Oldham.”
Connolly Ltd is a family business that extends beyond its people, focusing on building new relationships, improving lives and communities and making a positive difference to business.
A key part of Liam’s role is to collaborate with partners to improve the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of projects.
Dennis Gilbert of Acorn Major Works is quoted thus on the Connolly website:
“Connolly’s are currently our ‘go-to’ contractor for all our FRA work, planned investment and cyclical works. They have proved to be an outstanding asset to us by keeping our properties safe and in excellent condition. They are professionals in every sense with a ‘can-do’ attitude. It’s a real pleasure to work with Connolly’s and hopefully we will be doing that for a long time to come.”
