Davies the latest to agree new deal
Roughyeds have secured another key retention, with Ben Davies the latest player to put pen to paper on a new deal.
The centre has agreed a one-year extension with the option of a further year.
Davies joins teammates Reiss Butterworth, Ted Chapelhow, Brad Day, Owen Farnworth, Luke Forber, Ryan Lannon, Tom Nisbet, Matty Wildie, who are all contracted for next year.
“I’ve enjoyed being around the lads and the coaching staff and it’s kind of like home now, so I thought I might as well stick around,” he said.

I’ve played rugby for so long now that I have got used to every position. I’m happy to play anywhere really, especially for the team and I feel like I can play well in most positions.”
The 26-year-old has been a key member of the Roughyeds squad this year, making 27 appearances as well as scoring nine tries.
Many of those scores have come off the back of kicks, with the former Saints man proving ‘Mr Reliable’ at catching high balls.
Davies has also demonstrated his adaptability this season, regularly filling at prop as well as in his preferred centre position – something Oldham boss Alan Kilshaw has been quick to praise.
“We’re delighted Ben will be staying with us next season and hopefully for 2028 as well,” said the Oldham boss.
Ben has shown incredible versatility this season, playing centre on both sides of the field, full-back, stand-off, loose forward and, last week, even prop!
He loves a moan if he doesn’t get his hands on the ball, which probably tells you everything about how much he wants to contribute!
Ben has come to the club from Super League and has shown those qualities week in, week out.
He has developed a really good relationship with the coaching staff and is very popular amongst his teammates, with his contributions on the field highly respected by the whole group.
