Foundation proud to sponsor Saddleworth Village Olympics

The Oldham Rugby League 1876 Foundation was thrilled to announce its official sponsorship of the 2026 Saddleworth Village Olympics.

The Saddleworth Village Olympics is a premier annual multi-sport community event. The 2026 landmark programme brought together nearly 1,217 children who participated in almost 1,000 training sessions, 154 unique competitions, and 13 diverse sports across seven local villages. Crucially, the event remained entirely free for every participating child to ensure total inclusivity and accessibility for local families.

The partnership aligned closely with the core mission of the Oldham Rugby League 1876 Foundation, which utilised the values and reach of sport to educate, engage, and inspire young people across Oldham and Greater Manchester.

This event has been greatly supported by the foundation board with board trustee and former Oldham Rugby League player Adrian Alexander being a driving force behind this partnership'
