Geyer earns Super League move

Oldham can announce that hooker Cole Geyer has joined Huddersfield Giants on a loan for the rest of the season, with Roughyeds retaining a recall option.

Cole has featured for Oldham on 14 occasions, scoring 5 tries, and become a fan favourite in his short time at the club since signing from Australia.

Head coach Alan Kilshaw said:

"Cole came over to the UK to play at the highest level and has aspirations of playing Super League.

He has been an outstanding player for us and he has earned that opportunity with the Giants.

Cole still remains our player and we are happy for him to go and get that experience and show what he can do at the highest level.

With the recall option in place, it gives us an opportunity to call him back potentially at the back end of the season, or when his commitments have finished with Huddersfield Giants leading into a potential play-off campaign.

This is nothing to do with the recent announcements, there has been a lot of interest in Cole over the last few weeks.

He has been a real committed and popular member of the playing group and everybody wishes him well at the Giants."
