Oldham enter this season's Betfred Challenge Cup with a third game in seven days, as Sean Long's League 1 champions step-up preparations for the new Championship campaign with a home tie against Rochdale Mayfield.
Amateur side Mayfield head to Boundary Park for a lunchtime kick-off, with the winners going through to play Barrow or Crosfields at home in a fortnight's time.
Oldham withstood a spirited Rochdale Hornets display on Wednesday evening to retain the Law Cup on a chilly night at Boundary Park, having come up just short in an entertaining game with Super League champions Wigan three days earlier.
Team News
Long names his strongest possible side for the Cup tie, having rested new signings Matty Ashurst, Gil Dudson, Josh Drinkwater, Adam Milner and Iain Thornley in midweek.
Captain Jordan Turner and forward Lewis Baxter remain absent with hamstring injuries picked up against Wigan, and Logan Astley misses out after suffering a calf problem against the Hornets.
Adam Lawton and Brad Gallagher remain absent as they step up their returns to fitness, so too McKenzie Yei, while impressive youngster Marcus Geener is given a rest after his Oldham debut on Wednesday night.

Other refreshments are available via the kiosks on the concourse.
The day will start with live music in Bar 1895 from resident band the Boundary Parkas before host George Riley talks to members of the Roughyeds squad ahead of kick off.
