Match Preview: Oldham vs Batley

Oldham take on Batley this weekend aiming for an eleventh straight league win (3pm kick-off).

Oldham overcame a spirited Workington last weekend and now face an in-form Batley side on a run of four straight victories.

Roughyeds will be hoping to do one better than their last home fixture with the Bulldogs when an ice-cold Josh Drinkwater nailed a touchline conversion late on to earn a point.

Team News

Alan Kilshaw has made a number of changes to the squad, with both Ben Hartill and Jake Thewlis in contention to make their debuts for Oldham this weekend.

The pair arrived on an initial one-month loan earlier this week and will travel to the FLAIR Stadium with the squad this weekend.

Roughyeds are also boosted by the return of fan favourite Owen Farnworth who has been sidelined since the victory over Doncaster back in May. The only person dropping out of the squad is Jaron Purcell.

Squad in full: 1. Jack Walker, 3. Ben O'Keefe, 4. Ben Davies, 5. Jake Bibby, 6. Morgan Smith, 9. Matty Wildie, 10. Owen Farnworth, 11. Matty Ashurst, 12. Ryan Lannon, 13. Adam Milner, 15. The Opposition

Batley, like Oldham, come into the game off a hard-fought win. The Bulldogs came from behind to defeat last year's play-off semi-finalists Halifax Panthers 26-22, with former Roughyed Liam Kirk on the scoresheet.

Following wins over Keighley, North Wales Crusaders, Goole and Halifax, Batley are up to seventh in the league standings, and just one win off Doncaster.

As well as Kirk, Bulldogs also have former Oldham players Robbie Butterworth, Jimmy Beckett and Nyle Flynn in their squad.

Full-back Butterworth has nine tries in 14 appearances for the Bulldogs this year.
