Oldham are pleased to welcome Chris Chamberlain as its new chief executive of the Oldham RLFC Foundation.
Chamberlain joins the Roughyeds from Bradford Bulls and will start his role in the New Year as the club sets about further strengthening its links with the local community.
"2025 is going to be really exciting and I want people to know exactly who we are and what we are doing" Chamberlain told Roughyeds TV.
I've picked up a lot of experience from working at St Helens and Bradford Bulls but not everything is like for like. We have to build on what is in Oldham and what is needed in Oldham, how can we make a difference? We have to build from within and see what the town needs.
What can we give back and create in the Oldham borough, giving opportunities to try rugby league or get involved with the Roughyeds in other ways."
A local resident for the last decade, Chamberlain was Oldham's Development Officer 15 years ago, covering east Manchester and Oldham.
"We had a team developing rugby league back in 2009 so I have a rich history with Oldham, a real proud town and a hotbed of rugby league talent," Chamberlain said."
Chairman Bill Quinn believes this latest appointment underlines both the club's ambitions and its commitment to building a brighter future for everyone in region.
"There are so many parts of our vision but one of the main ones has always been the children coming into the club, realising we have got a club, the town getting behind us.
We were looking for someone who we felt could come in and push the Foundation, grab hold of it and take charge. Talking to Chris we are really pleased that he has come across and we feel that the Foundation will go from strength to strength under his tutelage and that this is another part of the jigsaw puzzle of everything else that is going on at Oldham.
We want to create as much history as possible to this fantastic club and the Foundation is us giving a little bit back to the community. It is not just take through tickets and sponsorship, but what can we do together? That is why our mantra is Stronger Together."
