Oldham will play Rochdale Mayfield or Telford Raiders at Boundary Park in the 2nd round of the 2025 Betfred Challenge Cup after the draw was made in Goole on Monday evening.
The Roughyeds will be at home for the clash at the end of January, after opening 2025 with friendlies against Rochdale in the Law Cup and then Super League champions Wigan, before their first competitive match in the sport's most prestigious Cup competition on the weekend of 25th and 26th January.
Oldham have lifted the famous silver trophy three times in their history, in 1899, 1925, and 1927, finishing runners-up on four occasions and will fancy their chances of a positive start to this year's competition at Boundary Park.
Meanwhile Waterhead Warriors also featured in the first round draw, and will play Leigh Miners Rangers at home on the weekend of January 11th and 12th, for the chance to join Oldham in round two a fortnight later.
A win for Waterhead would set up a mouth-watering second-round clash with Championship giants Featherstone Rovers.
