Oldham have bolstered their pack with the addition of loose-forward Finlay Irwin from Swinton Lions on a deal lasting the remainder of the season.
The former Warrington and Wigan youth product has scored three tries in ten appearances for the Lions this year but arrives at Oldham to add strength in depth.
After leaving Wigan’s youth set-up, the 21-year-old gained experience Down Under, playing for Brisbane Tigers.
The ball-playing forward, who also played for Widnes in 2025, is in contention to make his Roughyeds debut against Hunslet this weekend.
Roughyeds boss Alan Kilshaw said:
“Fin is a young ball playing loose forward, and we need to have the opportunity to rotate and rest players leading into the back-end, so we are flying come the play-offs.
Our squad was getting a little bit skinny and we are still working on maybe one or two more to come in and boost that depth and competition for places.”
