Roughyeds announce new driving partnership

Oldham RLFC is delighted to announce a new partnership with Limer Driving Academy who become our official driving instructor partner.

Shane Limer joins the team with a vision to offer free driving instructorship to all of Oldham, to create new job opportunities throughout the community.

“I wanted to get involved for the community. I’m an Oldham boy born and bred and have built everything that I have got, so now is the time to give back,” Limer said.

“If it be fully-funded training instructor or just driving lessons, that is the bigger scope to come where we can offer every under-privileged child a free driving lesson to get them a licence. If we get them a licence they can get a job and prosper from that.”

Roughyeds Commercial Manager Keiran O’Reilly added:

“Jobs in Oldham are difficult to come by and it is very rare that you find a fully-funded programme that is also a life skill as well. What we are trying to pinpoint over this long-term partnership is to build this into free driving instructor lessons for a lot of children across Oldham. We want to give back and show that we are not just a rugby club for the rugby, we want to do as much as we can for the town.”
