Women take on Bronte this Saturday

Roughyeds Women are back in action this Saturday to take on league leaders Bronte Barbarians.

Ben Marsden's side were due to face Crosfields at home, but the fixture has been postponed after the Warrington-based club were unable to field a team. A rearranged date will be announced in due course.

As a result, the away fixture against Bronte has been brought forward with this top of the table clash taking place at Castleford Rugby Union on Willowbridge Lane.

The Barbarians have made a perfect start to the campaign, winning all four of their opening matches, including a 40–20 triumph over an Oldham side that could only name 16 players.

Oldham travel to West Yorkshire rejuvenated, having put their heavy friendly defeat to Swinton behind them and welcomed back several key players from injury.

Roughyeds head into the clash buoyed by a morale-boosting 32-4 victory over York Acorn, with full-back Megan Hobin claiming a hat-trick.

And Marsden has selected a strong squad for Saturday's clash, which is shaping up to be an early benchmark in the race for the title.
