Women’s side invites players to open trial

Roughyeds Women are seeking players with previous rugby experience to join their rapidly growing squad.

The team will host an open trial on Thursday, April 30 (7pm) at the Netpar Training Centre, Fields New Road.

Players with a background in rugby union or rugby league – 0r those returning to the game after time away – are all encouraged to attend and get involved.

The trial is open to players aged 17 and over and attendees are asked to bring boots.

Formed less than a year ago, Roughyeds Women have already made a strong impression. A commanding 58–0 victory over Keighley underlines their attacking quality, while spirited performances against Championship opposition – pushing Sheffield Eagles close in a 24–18 defeat and competing strongly against Widnes Vikings despite a 32–6 loss – highlight the side’s rapid development.
