Coaching Staff

Sean Long
Head Coach
The Roughyeds boss won his first silverware as a head coach in 2024 having enjoyed a trophy-laden playing career that saw him widely regarded as one of the greatest half-backs Great Britain has ever produced. Long arrived at Oldham having coached Featherstone to the top of the Championship, as well as spells as assistant at both Leeds Rhinos and France. He is known for his resolute defensive teams and free-flowing attacking play.
Joe Wardle
Assistant Coach
Joining Oldham's coaching staff after retiring as a player at the end of the 2024 season, Wardle was a hard-nosed competitor on the field who is now keen to succeed as a coach. His playing career brought great success in Super League, having scored 76 top-flight tries in over 200 appearances for Huddersfield, Castleford and Bradford. As well as working as Sean Long's assistant, Wardle will help guide Oldham's pathway sides.
