Chairman invites fans to celebration dinner

Chairman Bill Quinn has announced discounted tickets for Roughyeds fans to be part of a special night next week to celebrate the first 12 months of the new era at Oldham, as well as the past and the future.

With thanks to Total Controlled Demolition, 100 sponsored tickets to the Celebration Dinner have now been made available for just £35.

Cross-code legend Jason Robinson will speak at the April 26 event, with head coach Sean Long, Managing Director Mike Ford and John Chadwick all taking part in the glittering evening at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Quinn has paid tribute to the club’s supporters for their support in an exciting start to the year on and off the pitch, and hopes fans can join the great and good of Oldham rugby league at next month’s celebration.

“The club for so many years was felt to be closed off to the fans and that nobody wants to listen to the fans, but we are totally in a different sphere now,” said Quinn.

“This is a great event with a great atmosphere in the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Jason is speaking, with a fantastic comedian, I will be speaking as will Mike and Sean and I would encourage as many people as possible to get down.

“Everything everyone does in engaging with our events enables us off the pitch to put back into the club to give our fans the best experience that we possibly can. We are building on that, things will get better and better as the season goes on.

“Things are gelling on the pitch and we are working hard off it too. We want to enhance the matchday experience for every age group and connecting with our community is key to what we want to achieve."

The event, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on April 26, will serve as a celebration of the present, as well as a reflection on the past, while providing an insight into what is to come for the club.

Cross-code rugby star Robinson will be speaking at the event, compered by Michael Bradshaw, telling stories from his career.

Entertainment throughout the night will also be provided by comedian John Gillan, including a raffle and auction. The ticket price includes a three course meal.

Guests are asked to arrive by 7pm to allow a prompt start at 7:30pm with the event expected to run until late.

Venue details: The Queen Elizabeth Hall, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1QJ

TIckets for the event can be purchased at our online shop or in person at the Fox and Pine pub.
