Match Preview: Oldham vs Salford

Oldham are looking to finish on a high in their last home game of the regular season with a big win over Salford at Boundary Park.

Fresh from toppling league leaders London Broncos and denying them the chance to lift the League Leaders’ Shield, the Roughyeds welcome Salford to Boundary Park for a local derby.

A win for Oldham would confirm at least a third place finish as well as maintaining pressure on Newcastle who remain second on points difference.

The club is once again allowing those aged under 16 in for free, following the success of the promotion last week which saw the biggest number of young fans at a game this season.

As well as the main event, Oldham's under 12s and 13s will take place in a curtain raiser, ahead of the derby.

Get down and cheer the lads on this Sunday.

Team News

Alan Kilshaw has made a couple of alterations to his squad, ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

Noah High, whose loan signing was announced this week, has replaced the outgoing Lazarus Vaalepu and the young forward could be set for his Roughyeds debut. Lukas Mason is also included.

Jake Bibby also drops out of the squad. This is due to the centre serving the first of a two-game ban after a high challenge on Kai Morgan in the 31-30 win over Sheffield.

Ryan Lannon who picked up a knock in the London game has recovered well and remains available for selection, Alan Kilshaw has confirmed.

Ewan Moore is still sidelined as he follows the RFL's Return To Play protocols after suffering a number of head injuries in a short period of time.

Squad in full: 1. Jack Walker, 3. Ben O'Keefe, 4. Ben Davies, 6. Morgan Smith, 7. Tom Forber, 9. Matty Wildie, 10. Owen Farnworth, 11. Matty Ashurst, 12. Ryan Lannon, 13. Adam Milner, 15. The Opposition

Salford come into the game fresh, having had a week off while Oldham battled to a big win over London.

Dave Hewitt and his men will be hoping to put on a better showing than the one which saw them fall to a first defeat to Swinton in 41 years in their previous outing.

Salford are a different side to the one which Oldham beat comfortably 44-0 in the opening round having made a number of additions to their squad.

One of those is Kieran Dixon, a prolific try scorer for Roughyeds, who will be set to make his return to Boundary Park for the first time since his move.
