Bill extends invite to all Salford fans

Roughyeds chairman Bill Quinn has confirmed that ALL Salford fans will now be offered free entry into Oldham's home Championship game with Doncaster on August 31st, and in the playoffs should Sean Long's men land a home tie.

Quinn wrote to Salford fans on Friday night confirming that Red Devils season ticket holders would be welcome at Boundary Park for free as a gesture of goodwill during the current crisis that saw Salford's latest Super League game cancelled.

And Quinn has now moved to extend the invitation beyond Salford season ticket holders - to every single Salford fan.

"We are a small rugby league community and we really should be trying to do our best for fans," Quinn told Roughyeds TV.

I would hope that if we were in a similar position then the rugby league community would reach out and help our fans in a similar manner.

We are going to extend the invitation now, not just to season ticket holders, but to all Salford fans. It is such a terrible thing that they have gone through all season, so if Oldham can in any way give something back from a rugby league community then all Salford fans are welcome."

Oldham host Doncaster on Sunday August 31st at Boundary Park in the final home game of the regular season and will then hope to land a home playoff tie with the team currently 4th in the table.

What do Salford fans need to do to claim their free ticket?

Red Devils supporters who wish to take up Bill's offer are kindly asked to email sft@roughyeds.co.uk to confirm their attendance - this is to allow us to calculate numbers and book the necessary seats and stewarding.

On the day Salford fans are simply asked to wear their shirt and bring their season ticket if they have one.

"All they need to do is turn up in a Salford shirt of some kind and they will be welcomed in. If you are season ticket holders then just bring your tickets," said Quinn.

It is the last home game of the regular season and it will be brilliant to welcome Salford fans.

I'd like to make it clear that we are not trying to steal Salford fans - I really hope Salford in some way continues. Our fans are our fans and Salford fans are Salford fans!

I just hope there is still a club there as it does nobody any good - we are all in it together and we are stronger together. But if there is something we can do it in the meantime to give light relief to Salford supporters then that is great, and I know that all our fantastic Oldham fans will welcome you with open arms."
