Oldham are delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Kilshaw as the club’s new head coach.
Kilshaw steps into the role after serving as assistant to director of rugby Mike Ford who, alongside fellow assistant coach Callum Irving, departed the club last week.
A former head coach of Swinton, Hunslet and Rochdale, Kilshaw has overseen Oldham’s attacking systems and will now assume overall responsibility for the first team.
“It means a lot to represent this club as head coach,” said Kilshaw
There is a real loyal fanbase and a really good backing off the field as well. I have really enjoyed the last month here in the role I came in to do.
The progression has come a lot quicker than I thought it would but I am excited and ready to work with everyone and continue the good work that has been done before me.”
Martin Elswood will continue to work alongside Kilshaw, while the club begins the process of strengthening its coaching staff following Irving’s departure.
Foundation CEO Chris Chamberlain will take charge of the club’s pathway system, with Irving also stepping down from his role as Pathways Technical Director
Chamberlain brings extensive experience in player development pathways, having previously served as Oldham’s Development Officer 15 years ago, overseeing east Manchester and Oldham. He also worked as a scholarship and academy coach with Wigan Warriors from 2008 to 2015.
