Oldham are pleased to confirm that second row forward Ryan Lannon has agreed a new one-year deal with the club for the 2026 Betfred Championship season.

The powerful forward signed from Widnes midway through the 2025 season and the 29-year-old's performances have been rewarded with a new contract at Boundary Park.

"My main goal when I signed was to get another contract and luckily enough the club has put their faith in me," Lannon told Roughyeds TV.

I thought my form was quite good and I was in the side quite a lot. But the main thing for me when I came here was that I started to enjoy my rugby again.

We came into a tough Championship and finished top four. The Halifax game let us down a bit but we are aiming high again for the coming season. I am really good mates with half the team here. I was enjoying my life and enjoying my rugby and that showed in my performances."

Director of rugby Mike Ford added:

"He started with us really well and is very hard to tackle. He is tough to put down and can grow even more with his fitness and defensive work

He has been there with Super League and we think he can get back to that level now he is settled here. We want to see him have a big pre-season and kick on - we are really happy that he has re-signed for us because he has the potential to win collisions especially on attack."
