Oldham head to Wimbledon for an absorbing encounter with London Broncos at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in the second round of the Betfred Championship this Sunday (3pm kick-off).
Roughyeds are yet to concede a point having secured big victories in their opening two fixtures, and will be looking to secure another positive result against the much-talked-about Broncos.
Team News
Director of rugby Mike Ford has made two changes to his 21-man squad.
Emmanuel Waine features for the first time this year, while Adam Milner also returns, with both players in contention for a place in Sunday’s matchday line-up.
Jack Walker is left out of the side in a move that was always planned, allowing the full-back to receive more conditioning. Sam Littler is the other player to drop out, which leaves Iain Thornley and Matty Russell still recovering from their respective injuries, with Russell edging closer to making his debut.
Director of rugby Mike Ford spoke to Roughyeds TV, ahead of the Broncos clash here.
Squad in full: 2. Kieran Dixon, 3. Ben O’Keefe, 4. Ben Davies, 5. Jake Bibby, 6. Morgan Smith, 7. Riley Dean, 8. Jack Ormondroyd, 9. Matty Wildie, 10. Owen Farnworth, 11. Matty Ashurst, 12. Ryan Lannon, 13. Adam Milner, 14. Cole Geyer, 15. Ted Chapelhow, 16. Ewan Moore, 17. Emmanuel Waine, 18. Jaron Purcell, 19. Harvey Makin, 21. Tom Nisbet, 23. Josh Drinkwater, 24. Marcus Geener.
The Opposition
London Broncos have undergone a transformation since a takeover by Australian businessman Grant Wechsel.
Many have backed the Broncos for an immediate return to Super League after landing marquee signing Reagan Campbell-Gillard, complemented by a strong contingent of Papua New Guinea internationals and former NRL talent.
Historically, Roughyeds have a poor record against London, with only four away wins over the Broncos since the club was formed in 1980. Oldham, though, won both league meetings last year and will be hoping to secure a third straight victory.
