Matty Wildie has been named Oldham's club captain ahead of the 2026 Betfred Championship campaign.
The vastly experienced hooker succeeds the departing Jordan Turner, with half-back Josh Drinkwater stepping up to become vice captain.
The pair form part of a six-strong Roughyeds leadership group that also includes Matty Ashurst, Adam Milner, Riley Dean and Jack Ormondroyd.
"I am delighted to be asked to be captain and we have some great players in that leadership group who can help me, I am looking forward to it," Wildie told Roughyeds TV.
I like to think I lead by actions, I say my part when needed, but make sure I am doing my role well and hopefully everyone else can follow.
There are a few new faces in this year's leadership group and a new coaching staff so a lot of responsibility will be us on players and that is something we look forward to. I hope we can set the standards and achieve what we want to achieve this year.
Hopefully over the year we can create a really strong team who is willing to fight and work hard for each other and do as best as we can this year."
