Oldham are pleased to confirm a deal to rename its Melrose base as the Netpar Training Centre.
The naming rights partnership with Oldham-based IT Solutions Provider Netpar provides a significant boost to the facility as the club continues to build both a rugby league home and a community hub for the future.
"We have been sponsors now for about a year and we have had discussions about a renaming " Ian Atherton of Netpar told Roughyeds TV.
We wanted to get a new name out there and to try and establish better links with the companies that are now involved with sponsoring Oldham Rugby.
We have agreed to sponsor and name it and work together to get more use of the Foundation, the ground and the set-up here."
Atherton says the partnership and funding provided by Netpar will allow even further improvement and expansion of a facility that has already undergone a dramatic transformation.
"Success from our point of view is to get the facility used every week all year round, be it for schools matches, the women's team, the Foundation teams, and obviously training for the team itself," he said.
We want more inclusion and more people involved to use the facility that is here. We can then expand it, make it better, bring in food and drinks and use the facility rather than it being left unused.
We know there are numerous schools in and around the area without access to somewhere like this. There will be a lot of schools who don't know about this place so hopefully we can get some more interest and more people visiting it."
